Harlin Jones custom jewellery is the work of Sumer, a high-level designer and craftsman with more than 27 years of experience, and founder of Harlin Jones.
With a fine eye for detail and a clear vision for aesthetics, Sumer will create your one-off jewellery design in his own unique style.
Collaborating with Sumer from the initial stage of thought to a sketch, you’ll be included in the journey as your item slowly evolves into an absolutely unique piece of jewellery.
A SUMMARY OF OUR CUSTOM MADE JEWELLERY PROCESS
We get to understand what exactly you’re looking for from your custom made jewellery, with an initial conversation.
Every design is sketched by hand, to show off its features and nuances.
We will meet with you again to show examples of our proposed materials.
A detailed 3D rendering of the jewellery is prepared to give you a clear view of the project.
Last of all we get to the workbench where your unique jewellery item is crafted by hand.
CASE STUDY, NICOLE KIDMAN & KEITH URBAN
Nicole Kidman first noticed our beautiful Arabesque Pattern Ring in a magazine feature. Completely taken with the design, she had her assistant contact us regarding the creation of a custom-made ring for her husband, Keith Urban's 50th birthday.
Her simple brief was that she wanted the design to feature her and her kids’ initials, or their names written in the design in full.
We divided the ring into 6 sections. Nicole and her kids’ names were written in a readable style, and in between each, we created polished 18ct rose gold filigree work. Then we created an inside sleeve, which really made the oxidised silver pop.
CUSTOM MADE JEWELLERY, THE COMPLETE PROCESS
THE INITIAL MEETING
Before getting in touch with us regarding any custom jewellery design, it is helpful to have some idea of what you are wanting to create. Whether you have collected images from Pinterest or noted down ideas of what you would like to be incorporated into the jewellery, the more information you can give us the better.
This usually is a back-and-forth process via email or face-to-face, where we hone your ideas to reveal the desired design.
THE SKETCH
Once we have a good understanding of the desired custom design we will complete a hand sketch to help give you a better visual understanding of what the jewellery will look like. At the same time, we can also provide an accurate cost for your project, along with a time frame to completion.
MATERIALS
If the custom jewellery has materials such as diamonds or other gemstones that need to be sourced, our team will scour our extensive network of trusted suppliers to find appropriate stone options for the project. We often provide several options to choose from, based on your preferences and budget.
3D CAD RENDER
Once everything is finalised, the initial sketch approved, materials selected and budget agreed upon, we proceed with a 3D Cad Render, which will give you a very clear vision of the final jewellery item. Steps 1 to 4 can, and will, be repeated until the design is perfected.
CRAFTING
Once your design is perfected to your satisfaction, we start the crafting of your custom jewellery. The completion can take anywhere from 2 to 6 weeks, depending on the complexity of your special item.
